Sidney Johnson is a talented and passionate designer. She received a Bachelor of Arts from UCLA Theatre Film and Television (2009), and an MFA from the Yale School of Drama (2012).
She most recently designed and built the set for a production of Blood Knot (Lounge Theater, directed by Nathaneal Johnson). While at Yale, Sidney designed the sets for The Taming of the Shrew and Julius Caesar. She was the assistant set designer for the world premiere of POP! and A Delicate Balance at the Yale Repertory Theatre.
Sidney also worked as a scenic artist for Passing (Carlotta Festival of New Plays), Eurydice (Yale School of Drama), Dr Faustus Lights the Lights (Yale School of Drama), The Tall Girls (Yale School of Drama), and Blacktop Sky (Yale School of Drama), Room Service (Westport Playhouse),and painted booths for Comic Con. She is a recipient of the Donald and Zorka Oenslager Scholarship in Stage Design.
Sidney is also a native Californian and likes to travel, dance, do outdoor activities, and explore National Parks. She loves theatre, especially musical theater and Opera, and her dream is to design Opera internationally.
